UMM Scholarships Programme for field mission in developping countries
We invite Bachelor’s and Master’s students enrolled in universities of the European Union who are studying a microfinance-related topic and who plan to:
- Conduct a field research in the frame of their Bachelor’s/Master’s thesis in developing countries
or
- Conduct an internship with an organization in a developing country or with an organization in a developed country if a field mission is planned
to participate in the UMM Scholarships Programme.
Concept and Deadlines
Scholarships of up to 1500 EUR are granted to students who will conduct a field mission in developing countries. The scholarships are granted to cover travel and / or accommodation expenses during the field research.
Each application will be evaluated by a professor and a practitioner. The final score will be the average of the two scores. Selected participants for the Scholarships Programme will be informed four to six weeks after submission deadline.
Furthermore, outstanding applicants might be invited to share the results of the research/internship during one of the workshops or awareness events organized by the UMM and/or in our institutional communication (ex: newsletter), if research topics are suitable.

- February 15th Deadline - 1st Call (Bachelor and Master)
- April 1st Deadline - 2nd Call (Bachelor and Master)
- June 15th Deadline - 3rd Call (Bachelor and Master)
- November 15th Deadline - 4rd Call for Scholarships (PhD)
